Brickell is considered the primary financial center of Miami with a total area of 1.19 square miles and a population of 31,000. The neighborhood is made up of numerous skyscrapers that are both residential and business and line the coast of Biscayne Bay. Brickell is 6.2 miles from Miami International Airport, one mile to the heart of downtown Miami, and a bridge-ride to Key Biscayne. It is near Little Havana, Biscayne Bay, Virginia Key, and Key Biscayne. There are three subdivisions within the neighborhood: West Brickell, South Brickell, and Brickell. The financial district of Brickell is home to offices, office buildings, banks and the Brickell City Center. West Brickell is the residential area featuring low to mid-rise apartment complexes.
